A real shop, on a real street, with the appliances actually in it.

Most of the appliances in the average Canadian home get replaced long before they stop working. A kitchen gets renovated, a family moves, someone upgrades to a matching set — and a perfectly sound eight-year-old fridge goes to the curb. Our job is to intercept those units, prove they still work, and put them in front of someone who needs one.

That means we are, practically speaking, in the testing business more than the selling business. Anyone can move a used appliance. The work is in knowing which ones are worth moving, and being willing to say no to the rest.

The catalogue on this website is our actual floor. When a unit comes in and passes testing, it gets photographed and listed the same day; when it sells, it comes off. There is no separate back-room inventory and nothing listed that we don't have.

Every appliance we take in goes through the same sequence, and a meaningful number of them don't make it through:

1. Intake. We buy selectively — recognised brands, sound mechanics, a unit worth standing behind. We turn down more than we take.
2. Testing.Every unit is plugged in and run end to end, through a full cycle, as part of a 12-point inspection covering function, safety and performance. If it can't complete a cycle, it doesn't get listed.
3. Cleaning. Deep-cleaned inside and out. Any honest cosmetic wear gets noted plainly in the listing rather than photographed around.
4. Listing.Photographed and published to this catalogue, so what you see on the screen is what's standing in the shop.

Our showroom units are connected and ready to demonstrate. If you want to watch a washer run a cycle before you buy it, that is a normal thing to ask for and we'd rather you did.

Every appliance we sell carries a 30-day parts and labour warranty covering functional components — motors, compressors, heating elements, electronic controls. Cosmetic wear is noted at the time of sale and isn't covered unless it affects how the unit works. Extended warranty options are available.

That warranty is the whole difference between buying from a shop and buying from a classified listing. A private seller can't offer you any recourse — not out of bad faith, but because once the appliance is on your truck the transaction is finished. A warranty means we had a financial reason to check the unit properly before it left.

We don't sell used dishwashers. For sanitary reasons we won't resell one. If you need a dishwasher to match a set, we sell new ones.

Used isn't always the right answer. For a main kitchen refrigerator, a very old, very cheap unit can cost more in hydro over a few years than you saved at purchase. We'd rather point you at a newer unit — or at a new appliance somewhere else — than sell you something you'll regret.

We buy appliances as well as sell them. If you have a clean, working unit you're replacing, send photos or call. We're selective, but we're always looking.
